empty v. 倒空，变空 a. 空的
搭配：empty bottle 空瓶子
　　　empty room 空屋子
例句：教室里空无一人。
　　　The classroom is empty.
　　　我有一个空瓶子。
　　　I have an empty bottle.

read v. 读
相关：reader 读者
　　　read + er = 读书的人 = 读者
搭配：read a book 读一本书
　　　read newspapers 读报纸
例句：我是一个小读者。
　　　I am a little reader.
　　　我必须读一些书。
　　　I must read some books.

sharpen v. 削尖，使锋利
构成：sharp a. 尖锐的，锋利的
　　　-en 动词后缀
相关：sharpener n. 卷笔刀
搭配：sharpen the pencil 削铅笔
例句：不要磨我的刀。
　　　Don’t sharpen my knife.

put on … 穿……
构成：put v. 放 on prep. 在……上
搭配：put on + 衣服
　　　= put + 衣服 + on
注意：当衣服用代词指代时，只能放在中间。
例如：put it on √ put on it ×
　　　put them on √ put on them ×
例句：我必须穿上它。
　　　I must put it on.

take off 1. 脱掉 2. 起飞
构成：take v. 拿 off prep. 离开
搭配：take off the shoes 脱鞋
　　　take off the clothes 脱衣服
例句：不要脱掉它们。
　　　Don’t take them off.

turn on 打开开关
turn off 关闭开关
构成：turn v. 旋转
搭配：turn on the TV 打开电视
　　　turn off the light 关灯
例句：你们必须打开水龙头。
　　　You must turn on the tap.
